4 Simple Things To Make A Part Of Your Morning Routine

We all have times we move away from the basic things we know are good for us to do to take care of ourselves, me included. It is during those times that we suffer the result of not taking care of ourselves that we realize we need to take care of ourselves better. I wanted to share a few of my very favorite things to help me with self care.

Meditation, Prayer and Contemplation

In the morning I love to spend a few minutes in meditation, prayer and contemplation. Of these three, meditation is my favorite. While I strive for 20 minutes, sometimes my meditation is only 3-5 minutes. There is no set rule, so it is always a good idea to choose a time frame that works for you. For me, taking the time to connect with the divine helps me to feel good and peaceful, and begin my day in a good frame of mind.

Affirmations

I also like to take a few minutes to go over my affirmations. For me, affirmations have been a way to help me shift my thinking and make changes in my life on many different levels. Many of my affirmations are simple, things like “I love myself” or “I always attract goodness into my life” or “I am always kind”. While many say to read them out loud, I have found that picking just a few, maybe five or ten, and then repeating them to myself silently and feeling the feeling associated with the affirmation is the best way to help me inplement a behavior into my life.

Reading

I also like to take a few minutes to read something that will enlighten, inspire or uplift, or help me be a better me. I always pick something that I am drawn to at that time in my life. It might be about angels, or quantum physics, health, or self-improvement (those are just a few of the things I love to read). Sometimes it is just a page or two and sometimes more.

Visualization

I also spend a few minutes in visualization, again, depending on where I am in my life, it might be visualizing myself in perfect health or visualizing myself being my best me. You are the one that knows what you need in your life, and if you spend time in meditation, prayer and contemplation, you will be guided to what you need in your life. And if you are uncertain, you might visualize the word clarity, which will help you have more clarity about you and your life.

I hope you find my blog helpful to you. I am sure you have some favorite things you like to do to help you start your day with a good mindset too. I would love to hear from you about what works best for you.
