The Power of Prayer In Our Everyday Lives

Prayer has been understood throughout the centuries as a mysterious and miraculous experience. There have been many mystics and saints who have experienced God on a deeper level through prayer, as well as contemplation and meditation.

Spiritual traditions throughout the ages have all believed in and understood there was power in prayer, that there was an unseen force behind everything in our lives that responded to our prayers. Some of us call this the Universe, some Spirit and some of us God. I call this force Spirit, or God, although sometimes I do call it the  Universe (There are many other names as well. I refer to God as Him, although you can call Him a Her if you prefer). Prayer is always a deep, individual and personal experience for each of us. We can reach out to ask that God, or Spirit intercede in our lives to help us when we are in need. Prayer is a special way of communication with our creator to help us in our everyday lives.

Prayer is a wonderful way for us to communicate with God, our creator, and to tap into and feel His love and his goodness.  Prayer uplifts us, helps to heal us, whatever it is that needs healing and to feel better about things in our lives.  Prayer also helps us to shift our vibration to one of love.

God, or Spirit will always provide us with the answers that we seek, if we just pay attention to that which is going on around us and understand how to interpret the messages that are sent to us as an answer to our prayers. Miracles really do exist and it is important to learn to recognize them in our lives. Miracles are often guidance for us, if we are just aware and mindful in our lives.

Prayer can be simple and does not need to be complicated. It can be a simple prayer such as “I need your help God ( or whatever you would like to call Him or Her). Help guide me and give me the answers I seek about (name your concern  or problem or petition). ” God always hears us and is always watching over us, and always guides us in our everyday lives if we just ask for His assistance.

Sometimes we do not understand how to listen to the messages we receive from Spirit, and as such do not understand that we really have received the answer that we are seeking.

When we spend time in meditation and prayer, it helps us to align with the loving energy that is always there for us. We will feel peaceful and the fearful thoughts that we are having will be calmed and the inner peace that we feel will permeate through our whole beingness, providing an unbelievable calm in the midst of turmoil and difficult times in our lives.

When we focus on the things that we desire in our life, and pay attention to the happenings and synchronicities going on around us, we will be amazed by the guidance that we receive and the miracles that really do occur in our lives.

God is all loving. The answers we seek are always there for us. Sometimes it may take a day or two or a little longer, but God always answers us, if we just pay attention to the small intuitive  messages that are a part of the conversations we are having with God or Spirit.

So how do we listen and know when God is answering us?

When we listen to the still small voice within, and remain open to the messages that God is providing us, and set aside our external thoughts, remaining open to possible answers for that which we seek, the answers we seek will always be provided.

A good way to clue in is to spend time not only in prayer, but in meditation and contemplation. All of these activities take us away from the normal hubbub of life and into an internal realm, one that is a deeper connection with Spirit.

Sometimes an idea will come to two or three times from the same source, and sometimes it will come to us two or three times from different sources and sometimes is different than what we expect or think with our rational mind. Sometimes He has something better in mind for us, if we just pay attention. When we receive messages two or three times, that is always a sign that it is a possible answer to that which we are seeking. By remaining open, we will always receive an answer to our prayers. The key is to remain open while in a deeper state of connectedness and bliss.
